The Shropshire Society in London

The Society currently has around 215 members. It was founded in 1750 and re-formed in 1899 with the aim of welcoming Salopians to the capital and ensuring they immediately had a network of friends in London and enabling them to participate in some enjoyable events in the capital and in Shropshire – often at venues usually not available to the general public.

Past events and visits have included the Great Hall of the Middle Temple, Royal Courts of Justice, RAF Club, Acton Scott Hall, The Wallace Collection, Midlands Air Ambulance Headquarters, and Cosford Grange.

In 2024 we celebrate the Society’s 125th anniversary with a Civic Service at Shrewsbury Abbey and a Gala Dinner at Netley Hall.

Every year there is the opportunity for a limited number of people  to attend the Quit Rents Ceremony at the Royal Courts of Justice.

See the full list of events for 2024.
